The Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) has approved two new loans in the Dominican Republic for a total of $154m, the finance ministry said in a statement.
CABEI has granted $54m in financing for AES Dominicana, the local subsidiary of the US power company AES, to build a 50km natural gas pipeline from the AES Andrés terminal to the city of San Pedro de Macorís, said the Dominican finance minister, Donald Guerrero Ortiz.
