BNDES said it has approved BRL3.41bn ($1.1bn) in financing to build transmission lines and wind power projects in Brazil.
The national development bank allotted BRL2.56bn for the construction of two transmission lines from the Belo Monte hydroelectric dam on the Xingu River in the northern state of Para. BNDES will cover 46% of the BRL5.6bn in project costs, with BRL1.68bn in direct loans and BRL875m through an on-lending agreement with the federal savings bank Caixa Economica Federal.
