Honduras’ electoral tribunal said it has finished a vote recount and stood by its initial decision, declaring the current President Juan Orlando Hernández the winner of elections held on November 26.
The decision drew criticism from the Organization of American States (OAS), which called for new elections "to guarantee peace" in Honduras.
EU observers have been in the country since October 11 but said it would take weeks to finish a report on alleged election irregularities.
