Electricity regulator Aneel sells 11 licenses with more than $2.6bn in estimated investments

The Brazilian government has awarded contracts for 11 electricity transmission lines, requiring an estimated BRL8.7bn ($2.64bn) in investments. The average discount offered for the contracts was 40.5%, the electricity regulator Aneel said in a statement. The contracts involve building and operating 4,919km of transmission lines and substations with a capacity of 10,416 mega-volt-amperes (MVA) in the states of Bahia, Ceará, Minas Gerais, Pará, Paraíba, Pernambuco, Piauí, Rio Grande do Norte and T
