Chile has auctioned off 2,200 GWh/year of electricity by offering 20-year power purchase agreements due to kick off in 2024, the country's Ministry of Energy said last Thursday.
A total of 24 companies submitted bids amounting to 20,700 GWh, 9x the total amount auctioned off.
The average price of the auction, which awarded solar and wind power projects, stood at a historical low of $32.5/MWh.
