The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) have expanded a co-financing program for renewable energy projects to $3bn from $1bn. The IDB and JICA created a co-financing program for renewable energy and energy efficient projects called CORE in 2012. CORE grew from $300m in 2012 to $1bn in 2014. The program will now last until April 2021.CORE originally focused on projects in Central America and the Caribbean. It has financed about $80
