Investors bemoan "dire" Belize bond restructure

Belize faces a tough negotiation with fixed income investors as it seeks to restructure some $530m in outstanding 2038 bonds.  The Central American sovereign wants to reach an agreement with bondholders before February 20, but one investor said the government has not "built a track record of credibility" and is strapped with a 10% current account deficit and mired in economic contraction.  A second fixed income investor said "even a 50% haircut" would not be enough to put Belize on a sustainable
