Central America Honduras Loans Project & Infrastructure Finance

Energy company SunEdison has closed a $146m non-recourse credit facility to build three solar power plants in Honduras. The IFC, Central American Bank for Economic Integration (Cabei) and Opec’s Fund for International Development lent to the project finance deal. The IFC lent a $65.5m 15-year senior tranche and a $20m 16.5-year subordinated tranche, including portions through its Clean Technology Fund and Managed Co-Lending Portfolio Program.
