The Irish-owned company has helped boost penetration rates to more than 90% in Caribbean markets such as Jamaica, where penetration rates were only 4% in 2001, according to Digicel Group CEO Colm Delves. Digicel is eyeing additional opportunities for expansion in the region, particularly in the Bahamas, where the telecom sector is set to open up to competition.
