The board of Corporacion Nacional del Cobre (Codelco) called for chief executive Thomas Keller to resign in a late night meeting on Thursday. Keller will be replaced by an interim CEO on June 13 until a permanent replacement is found by a special committee being established for the purpose. The decision came as Codelco enters a new phase, with “new challenges that require new leadership”, chairman Oscar Landerretche told reporters on Friday.
