Argentina on Monday asked US authorities to freeze a ruling that could push the country into default, as it seeks more time to reach an agreement with holdout creditors. The country says it is willing to negotiate with holdout creditors and wrote to Judge Thomas Griesa on Monday asking for a stay on his ruling that calls for Argentina to service holdouts before restructured debt.
