Moody’s lifts Pemex in wake of sovereign upgrade

Moody’s has raised Pemex rating a notch to A3 following a decision to lift Mexico’s grade in February, saying that despite structural reforms in the country’s oil sector, Pemex will continue being closely linked to the Mexican sovereign. The Mexican sovereign would “continue to provide strong support, given the company's importance to the government's budget, to the oil sector and to the country's exports,” Moody’s senior credit officer Nymia Almeida said in a note.
