Enersis buys Inkia’s Edegel stake


Chilean power company Enersis has agreed to buy a minority stake in Peru’s Edegel, which was put on sale earlier this year. Enersis will pay Inkia Energy $413m for its 39.01% stake in Edegel’s controller Generandes. Inkia signaled in January that it was considering selling its stake in Edegel, as part of the firm’s strategy to move away from minority holdings. The purchase marks another step in Enersis’s acquisition trail, after it raised $2.4bn of capital from the market in an equity follow-on
