Bond fund inflows hit 16-month record


Investors made their strongest bet on emerging market bonds since January 2013 last week, putting $7.77bn of cash into fixed income funds, according to data from EPFR cited by Barclay and RBS. The data for the week to April 9 indicated the first time since May 2013 that both hard and local currency bond funds registered inflows, and marked the biggest weekly inflow into fixed income funds since January 2013, RBS said.
