BNDES taps Japanese lenders for $800m, preps further bilateral deals

Brazil’s state development bank BNDES signed loans with Japanese banks for $800m last week, and is in the process of negotiating credits from other multilateral institutions, Sergio Foldes, who runs BNDES’s international area, told LatinFinance. Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi signed a $500m 3-year bullet loan with BNDES on Friday. Foldes declined to comment on the price of the deal although BNDES said it was competitive.
