Emerging market equity fund outflows reached $1.59bn in the week to February 20. That was a 50% fall from a week earlier, but Barclays said more retail investors were likely to pull money out as uncertainty in some EM countries persisted. At $23.42bn, year-to-date outflows from EM equity funds have exceeded the $15.01bn recorded in the same period last year, the bank said. Even though money is still leaving, the pressures across equity and fund flows were less intense last week, the bank said. “
