Chile’s central bank will likely hold rates at 4.5% when it meets today, analysts say. The bank cut rates 25bp at its November meeting, following a surprise cut of 25bp at its October meeting. Meanwhile, Pablo Garcia, the IMF’s executive director for the Southern Cone, has been confirmed as a member of the Chilean central bank board for a 10-year term. He replaces Manuel Marfan, who left in December.
