LatAm equity funds performed poorly last week, exacerbating losses recorded in the first days of the year. Latin American equity funds lost 2.42% on the week ending January 9, for a year-to-date loss of 4.5%, according to Lipper. Emerging market equity funds did marginally better — losing 1.63%, for a year-to-date loss of 2.92% — while global small and mid-cap funds continued in the opposite direction, up 0.41% on the week for a 0.28% gain.
