The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) has agreed to provide a $146m, 18-year loan to the Dominican Republic’s ministry of public health and social assistance, the IDB says. The loan has an 11.5-year grace period and undisclosed interest rate based on Libor. The proceeds will be used to help better public health spending, the IDB says, as part of a project that includes growing maternal and child centers in six targeted hospitals.
