Brazil CDS are EM’s Most Traded: EMTA

Brazilian CDS instruments saw $65bn in turnover during 2Q 2013, according to EMTA, to lead the EM. Mexican CDS were the third-most traded in the quarter, at $32bn, just behind Turkey’s $33bn. The totals come out of a $279bn total volume across EM, up 28% from $218bn in 2Q 2012, and up 31% from $212bn in 1Q 2013. On the corporate side, Pemex ($2.3bn) and Petrobras ($1.6bn) finished behind EM leader Gazprom of Russia ($2.7bn). The association also notes that a rise in LatAm and Asian volumes in 2Q
