Peruvian power producer and distributor Maple Energy has signed a $160m, 8-year loan with Itau, Interbank, Bancolombia and Cofide, it says. The term loan done through the Maple Etanol and Maple Biocombustibles units pays Libor+4.75% during the first three years, Libor+5.25% during years 4-5, and Libor+5.50% thereafter. Proceeds from the loan, which is secured by deposit revenue and the ownership interest, will be used to repay debt and for general corporate purposes.
