Mexican debt instruments were EM’s most traded in 3Q 2013, according to EMTA, occupying a spot typically held by Brazil, whose instruments were second-most. Mexican instruments accounted for $255bn in turnover during the quarter, up 61% from 3Q 2012 and 31% from 2Q 2013. Mexican instruments represented 20% of total trading in 3Q 2013, up from 12% in the previous quarter. Brazilian instruments were second, at $201bn, representing a 19% year-on-year decrease and 11% fall from the previous quarter.
