The IDB will loan up to $100m to the Dominican Republic to help address poverty in the country, it says. The loan has an 18-year term with an 11.5-year grace period and Libor-based interest rate. The IDB points out that the Dominican Republic’s poverty and extreme poverty rates are above the region’s average – and also higher than before the 2008-2009 global crisis.
