Madeira Transmission Gets Loan, Plans Bonds

Interligacao Eletrica do Madeira, the electric transmission entity connecting the Rio Madeira hydroelectric facility to Brazil's grid, is set to get BRL1.8bn ($884m) from BNDES and also plans a BRL350m infrastructure debenture sale, BNDES says. The Brazilian development bank has approved a 16-year BRL1.8bn loan for the special purpose vehicle formed by CTEEP, Companhia Hidro Eletrica do Sao Francisco and Furnas.
