EM bond funds saw relatively small inflows of $21m during the week ending November 16 as investors become more defensive, according to EPFR. This comes as continued bouts of risk aversion left local currency funds losing some $164m, while hard currency gained $190m. Meanwhile, emerging market debt funds inched lower, falling 0.89% during the week ending November 17, according to Lipper. That made the asset class one of the worst performer among Lipper’s world-income funds during that period.
