HK-Based Noble Nabs Brazil Sugar Mills


Hong Kong-based Noble Group says it has acquired 2 Brazilian sugar mills for a combined $950m. Noble, a supply chain manager for the agricultural and energy product sector, says it will fund the acquisition through existing resources. Noble says it will pay $350m in cash and $600m in assumed debt. According to Noble, the deal will put it in the top tier of sugar cane milling companies world-wide, with a combined potential crushing capacity of 17.5m tons.
