Aerolineas Argentinas is getting a $640m 12-year loan from Brazil’s BNDES to finance 85% of the acquisition of 20 airplanes from Brazil-based aeronautics company Embraer. According to Dow Jones, the loans will pay an interest rate of 6.52%-7.40%. A spokeswoman from BNDES declines to comment on pricing. The government of Argentina took control of the airline in July 2008. It was previously owned by Spanish conglomerate Grupo Marsan.
