Rio Tinto Eyes Argentina Investment


Miner Rio Tinto is waiting for approval to develop its Potasio Rio Colorado project in Argentina, which would require an investment of $3.5bn and produce 4.3m tons of potash. The investment includes building a power plant and developing rail infrastructure. The project is in the final stages of feasibility study and approval depends on resolution of outstanding permitting and other required agreements in Argentina, as well as the approval of the Rio board.
