The debt capital markets of Brazil are evolving with innovation in structures, broader market access for emerging and existing issuers, and a deeper pool of investors. One of the biggest stories has been the growing maturity and capacity of the debentures market to fund the growth of corporate Brazil. In 2012 the debentures market grew to BRL 96.47bn, exceeding the BRL 78.35bn in 2011. With issuers of all size and rating ready to tap the market for local bonds and foreign currency denominated debt products, 2013 is projected to be an even bigger year.
