The Latin America Korea Investors Forum

Korean investment in Latin America has risen sharply in recent years. During 2010 & 2011 FDI amounted to $2.14bln and $2.26bln respectively, signaling a remarkable acceleration of Korea’s interest in the region. 

At the forefront of this drive are the conglomerates Samsung, SK Group and Hyundai, and natural resources companies KNOC, KOGAS and POSCO, who are flocking to Latin America to invest across a wide variety of sectors. Beyond the direct investors, Korea’s is also home to a diverse group of banks and investment funds who are already amongst the region's most knowledgeable on the opportunities present in Latin America’s equity and debt markets.

The inaugural Latin America Korea Investment Forum (LA-KIF) will examine this rapidly evolving investment relationship, its pace, direction, and the opportunities that exist for Korean investors looking to invest in Latin American assets. A comprehensive agenda consisting of informative panels and presentations will be complimented by private and pre-arranged 1-1 meetings at the Forum.
