Recent Chinese investments into Latin America include two $10 billion deals for Petrobras, $3.1 billion to Bridas, a $3 billion bid for the Peregrino oil field, $2 billion for Toromocho copper mine, $400 million to MMX, $200 million for the Jaguar Energy Guatemala plant, plus Sinopec's Petrobras deal and the CIC's investment programs in Brazil and Mexico. These and other deals are underpinning the heightened investment from China into Latin America as Chinese investors seek to access Latin America's assets.
To explain and uncover further LatAm opportunity for a broader and deeper group of Chinese direct and indirect investors, LatinFinance will hold the 2nd Latin America China Investors Forum (LA-CIF) on September 15-16, 2010, in Beijing.
Building on the success of last year's Forum — over 400 delegates and 200 one-on-one investor meetings — this unique and exclusive event will connect Latin America's leading companies, funds and government entities with the most liquid and relevant investors and companies from China. The Forum will feature an in-depth examination of the full spectrum of investment and business opportunities in Latin America and the criteria for Chinese investors to deploy capital into Latin America.
