People: Asia for Aguzín

JPMorgan appointed Alejandro Guevara and Lisandro Miguens in December as co-heads of banking – which covers investment banking, DCM, ECM and M&A – for Latin America, a job that had been the responsibility of LatAm chief executive Nicolás Aguzín. Aguzín had also served as CEO of Latin America, a position now filled by Martín Marrón.

Guevara retains his role as head of the LatAm global corporate bank, and Miguens continues on as senior country officer for the Andean, Central American and Caribbean regions and head of investment banking for Mexico, Central America and Colombia.

Surat Maheshwari has joined Banco Pine in New York as a managing director focusing on all aspects of the Brazilian bank’s debt capital markets business, including sales, syndication and origination. The bank is planning to set up a US-based DCM, sales...
