Brazil - Best Investment Bank – Itau BBA

Itaú BBA was able to use its local foothold to win a bigger share of transactions despite a drop in Brazilian deal volumes in 2011. The Brazilian investment banking powerhouse won mandates across the IB universe, playing a role in the vast majority of M&A transactions over the period and working on some of the few successful equity offerings this year.

Despite the rocky backdrop, Jean-Marc Etlin, head of Itaú BBA Investment, sees more activity driven by a number of secular trends.
