Gottex turns the spotlight on Asia

Gottex Fund Management, a fund of hedge funds manager with over $8 billion in assets under management, is looking to grow its Asia Pacific fund to capture the rapid growth of the region.

Global institutional investors are still significantly under-allocated on Asia but the situation is steadily being addressed, according to Max Gottschalk, the firm’s Asia head, who relocated to Hong Kong early this year from Europe. "Many global institutions investing in hedge funds are looking to increase their allocations to Asian hedge funds and that is exactly what has been happening since the beginning of the year where we have seen allocations from some of the biggest pension and sovereign institutions."
