Banco Cuscatlán is El Salvador's second-largest bank
but it has set its sights beyond the country's borders. It is
the third-largest bank in Central America with 32 branches in
Guatemala, El Salvador, Costa Rica and soon Panama, and aims to
become the region's biggest. Mauricio Samayoa,
Cuscatlán's president says, "Our competitive advantage
is that we are a local bank with a regional mindset."
Cuscatlán is owned by the Panamanian holding company,
Corporación UBC International.
