Banco Cuscatlán is El Salvador's second-largest bank but it has set its sights beyond the country's borders. It is the third-largest bank in Central America with 32 branches in Guatemala, El Salvador, Costa Rica and soon Panama, and aims to become the region's biggest. Mauricio Samayoa, Cuscatlán's president says, "Our competitive advantage is that we are a local bank with a regional mindset."
